Not to long ago I came across this video calling for the boycott of Nicki Minaj.  Now I’ve heard a few bars of Nicki’s before, but never really fucked with her like that.  It’s not my steez.  But I did see the infamous Grammy performance. SMH!

Since I was wearing my “fight the power” shirt that day, I checked it out.  Stupid Hoe blew my wig back.  That’s supposed to be her Lil’ Kim diss right.  “Them nappy headed hoes, but my kitchen good.”  Is that for Kim?  Cause Kim wears just as many wigs as Nicki.  “How you gonna be the stunt double to the nigga monkey?” Well that’s just one track, maybe it ain’t that deep.

So I kept on listening. “Chimpanzees is hatin’, but I take it all in stride.  Put her in a jungle with bananas on the side. (Til The World Ends w/ Britney Spears and Ke$sha)  Who she talking about?  Ain’t no white girls hating on Nicki, they love new school barbie.

I think I’m starting to see the brothas point.  We’ve all been influenced in one-way or another by all forms of media.  As I kid I stopped believing in Santa Clause because we went to a black church and on Christmas, we had a black Santa.  Back in the day, it was what like what the what.  Santa is NOT black.

Am I a hater because I agree with the brotha?  We all gotta lil hater in us, so let me keep it one hundred.  My only reason for hatin’ on you Nicki is cause you have all that ass.  I’d have to have a take bootleg injections to get ass like that.    But other than that, I see you as a sister, cause that’s how I get down.  I’m on some one love, we are the world shit.  (Not too mention my ½ my family from Trinidad…shout out to all my Trini’s, wine up)

icki it’s not your responsibility to be a role model.  But… in the video you acknowledge that kids are listening to your music.  They are taking that shit in and it is effecting they way they view themselves and the world.  We’ve all seen the video of the Black Doll White Doll experiment.

Real talk, I think a boycott is good.  Not against Nicki Manij, not even against Cash Money, Young Money, whatever the hell.  Boycott their parent corporation, Universal.  I know the deal.  If you ain’t pop and don’t get the numbers, they drop you.

Fuck ‘em.  Nicki you got skills.  I found some of your early shit and you dope.  I think you’d be able to still make records, tour and get money if you decided to break them chains and leave that Barbie programming alone.



At the end of the day, I can’t boycott something I’ve never bought or thought about buying.  But if Nicki changes her game up, I’ll put $13 on it.  (Or however much album downloads cost now)
