Streetkode was in the house at HomeGrown Radio last Thursday. We just had to see what all the damn hype was about. If you're on the underground scene like we are, then you've definitely heard about HomeGrownRadio.net. If not, you're snoozing. HomeGrown is hosted by Chuck Dizzle and the Serato assassin, DJ Hed, holds down the 1's and 2s. This week in particular, DJ Head killed it with his Nate Dogg Tribute mix and Horse Shoe Gang was in the building for an interview. Niiiiice.

Chuck Dizzle has been on the radio scene for a cool minute. As a former ON AIR and street personality for both 100.3 The Beat and 93.5 K-Day, Chuck brings his experience to his own imprint and it DEFINITELY shows in the quality of the program.

HomeGrownRadio is bringing hiphop back to its roots and is a well-respected show that has garnered exclusive interviews from the likes of XXL's 2011 Freshman, Kendrick Lamar, Jay Rock, Ab-Sol, Roccet, K-Dat, Bad Lucc, Mistah FAB, Nipsey Hussle, Glasses Malone, Problem, Quiz, Terrace Martin - OKAY, YOU GET IT RIGHT? Honestly, with all the corporate washing of today's "radio stations", it felt good to finally be in the presence of REAL HIP HOP. If this is hype, then it's hype you should believe in. I haven't heard a quality hiphop show in a minute and this brought me back to the days of Julio G. and Theo when it was REAL.
